A: Liberty Tutors are highly qualified university students or recent university graduates. They have mastered their tutoring subjects and also possess outstanding teaching skills. Our tutors are accomplished young adults who would be great role models for any child. We look for dynamic individuals who are able to relate to your child and help turn learning into an enjoyable experience.
A: We take pride in matching the right tutor to your child’s needs. Our success stories testify to that.
However, if after your first session, you feel that the relationship between your tutor and your child simply won’t work out, we’ll provide you with another qualified Liberty Tutor. And that first session would be on us!
That’s how committed we are to your child’s success!
The broad range of courses we offer are chosen based on the approved education curriculum in each province as well as the level of demand for those courses.
A: Yes. Besides English, we have qualified tutors who can teach in French. However, their availability varies from one region to another. Call us for more details.
A: With Liberty’s one-on-one, in-home tutoring, the scheduling is generally more flexible than group tutoring environments. You don't need to skip work or get stuck in traffic to take your child to a center with limited scheduling options. Our tutors also work weekends if that is what you prefer.
However, we do recommend that once you decide on a time schedule with your tutor, you commit to it, throughout the year. Consistency is one of the secrets to educational success.
A: With Liberty you are free to choose your hours. There are no minimum or maximum numbers. Each family has different academic goals. Based on your child’s specific needs, we will recommend to you the optimum number of tutoring hours for success. Talk to a Liberty expert and benefit from our no-obligation consultation!
A: Yes. At Liberty Tutoring, we believe that each student is unique – quite often with different learning styles. When it comes to tutoring, one size does not fit all. That’s why we develop customized lesson plans for each individual - whether it’s to help your child with their homework or to teach him or her concepts that they don’t fully understand.
A: Our proprietary tool for customizing the lesson plans is our LibertyMap™. LibertyMapping™ is a customized plan of success for your child. Your Liberty tutor prepares it with input from both you and your child. Once you approve it, the LibertyMap becomes your child’s learning road map. A big part of it focuses on first, setting personal goals, then, learning how to accomplish them. Which at the end of the day, is a very satisfying and rewarding experience for any child.
A: Your tutoring sessions take place exclusively in your home. This gives you the opportunity to optimize your after-work or weekend hours at home, while making sure that your child’s educational needs are taken care of by a professional.
A: We believe that for individual attention in a safe comfortable environment there is no place like home. Plus, successful tutoring is not a classroom exercise. We should be supporting the teaching process and not copying it. In order for your child to open up and share their needs with their tutor they need to be in a non-intimidating environment – with few distractions. It’s how Liberty’s tutors build rapport and get results.
A: No. Our aim is to make our service as manageable as possible for you. Therefore, we only bill at the end of each month.
A: No. To give you the flexibility to manage your hours according to your child’s needs and progress, we do not impose any long term contracts on our clients. This is simply in line with our philosophy of helping your child become an independent learner.
A: As of 2011, the Federal Government has recognized tutoring as one of the eligible activities under the Children’s Arts Tax Credit. For more information, click here.
